Biography

Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from the University of London, England in 2012 and obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice before being admitted to the Malaysian Bar.

Alan’s practice focuses on real estate and corporate and commercial laws. Alan has acted for corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including commercial projects and developments, property sale and purchase, tenancies and leases.

In the corporate and commercial field, Alan has advised clients on corporate acquisitions, restructuring exercises, joint ventures, share sale transactions and employee share option schemes. Alan also has experience in advising Malaysian start-up founders, consulting firms and technology companies.

Notable Transactions

  • Advised on the grant of corporate banking facilities amounting to RM30 million to a leading shipping company in Malaysia.
  • Advised a group of consulting companies on its projects, strategic business planning and transactions.
  • Advised a leading fintech, banking and payment solutions company on its operations, agreements and collaborations with 20 financial institutions in 10 countries.
  • Acted for a Malaysian property developer in obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals for foreign currency borrowing to part-finance its property development projects.
  • Handled various real estate transactions including preparation of financing documentation.
