Biography

Amanda Pang is a founding partner of Messrs Amanda Pang & Yee and an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She brings together a unique combination of skills in corporate law, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and company secretarial work, allowing her to deliver advice that is both holistic and strategic. This combination enables her to help clients structure deals, safeguard assets, and resolve disputes with commercial foresight.

Amanda’s core strength lies in dispute strategies and negotiations, where she focuses on building bridges between conflicting parties, ensuring outcomes that are not only legally sound but also commercially viable. By combining her corporate insight with dispute resolution skills, she helps businesses protect their interests and position themselves advantageously in both deal-making and conflict resolution.

Beyond practice, Amanda contributes her expertise as the Legal Advisor to the Malaysia Digital Chamber of Commerce (MDCC) and serves on legal committees including Wanita Industri Binaan Malaysia (WIBM). Her involvement across different industries allows her to draw from a diverse reservoir of perspectives, enriching the strategies she designs for clients.

Educated at Cardiff University, Amanda holds a Master’s in International Commercial & Trademark Laws. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) before being admitted to the Malaysian Bar.

Notable ASSIGNMENTs

  • Acted for a public listed company and its subsidiaries in opposing various suits filed against them, including winding up petitions, debt recovery and breach of contract claims involving RM300 million debts.
  • Represented a public listed company in International Arbitration for a breach of contract and fraud dispute involving a sum of approximately USD1 million.
  • Represented a group of Malaysian companies in intervening a judicial management proceeding involving total claim sum of approximately RM30 million.
  • Acted for a major foreign company in a post-liquidation suit to recover a sum of approximately RM340 million.
  • Acted for a major corporate recovery firm in Malaysia in several winding up proceedings.
  • Advised and facilitate the setting up of a Foreign Grantor Trust
  • Acted for clients in various shareholder disputes, employment disputes and other company-related disputes.
